SOAP BOX DERBY 2002 START-UP CLINIC REVIEW
By: Nick Ellis (1970 Detroit
Champ)
Now that’s entertainment…the 2002
start-up clinic was an overwhelming success!! A homerun out of the park!!
Everyone
who was someone in the derby was there! It was just fantastic to see so many
people interested in the derby. I don’t know who was more excited about being
there, my son or I?
The
children met, and talked to the world champ, as well as had a chance to climb
into his racer. There were prizes, games and the best snacks this side of the
Mississippi. What more could a person want?
The
clinic director, Joe Flynn and his lovely wife, even had a Power Point
presentation for the mom’s and dad’s. To sum it up, “it was just like the old
times”. The Soap Box Derby is alive and well in the Metro Detroit area.
